Job Happiness – Enjoy Your Work Life!

By admin | July 20, 2009

Most of us have families, bunch of friends, a nice (maybe not so nice) car, a hefty mortgage/rent and a full time job. Some of us have two jobs. Some none. But I will focus on people with jobs, jobs they don’t like, coworkers they despise and bosses they hate. Job happiness – not happening for them!

It seems as if the scenario described above is quite common these days. We get caught up in the everyday life – waking up at the same time every morning, eating breakfast we already ate about 438 times before, commuting to work, having a job we don’t like, getting off of work in the late afternoon, going home and spending those last few hours of the day with family and friends.

Then you go to bed, wake up and do the same thing over and over again.

If you’re not happy with the job you have, what should you do?

Excuses For Not Going To Work

If you type “excuses” in the Google browser, it will give you a choice of/a list of possible keywords this search engine thinks you’re looking for. Guess what comes up first and second?

“Excuses for not going to work” and “Excuses to get out of work”. Obviously, we have a problem here. Since you spend about 40-60 hours at work every week, you should spend those hours doing something you like, something you’re good at and surrounded with people you respect.

Job happiness… How to get there, you ask?

Most people stay at their current job because they make up different excuses. Right now, the economy is tough and many people are losing their jobs, so you might think that this is not the right time to get picky. You might be right, but you have to think about this – work happiness is not that hard to achieve. It will make your life easier, better and you’ll enjoy it more.

Excuses like “Annoying coworker will get fired, I’ll be OK”, “Things will get better, they have to”, “My boss will realize I’m the best worker here”, “I will be respected at my job” etc. are just excuses. Many people stay because they make themselves believe that things would really get better.

Other people stay at their current positions because they’re stubborn. “If I leave, my boss/annoying coworkers will win, and I’ll lose”, is the worst reason to stay at your job. You have to realize that there is no winner or loser – your life is not about being stubborn and suffering just because “your boss/coworkers” might win if you leave.

High blood pressure and stress will eventually make you lose the battle of choosing your work happiness. You cannot afford to pass the opportunity to be happy at your job.

I Want Job Happiness!

Pack your bags and leave. Say goodbye to bad energy surrounding you at your job. Say goodbye to those excuses you said so many times before and get ready to really enjoy your work life!

If you think that there are no jobs available or every job experience is negative, with evil bosses and mean coworkers, you are wrong. There are many, many positive, motivated people and companies that would love to have an experienced and knowledgeable worker like you on board. You just need to find them.

Money is important. Actually, very important. But, money doesn’t mean anything if you lose your health. Working the job you don’t like in the office you don’t want to be in, will only damage your health. Frustration, stress and bitterness are not supposed to be part of your life.
