Prostate Herbs – The Guide
By admin | July 17, 2009
Men usually don’t take any measures to preserve the health of their prostate until later in life even though prostate cancer kills more 3% of male population. We could blame the nature of male sex or ignorance but the fact that prostate problems account for a large percentage of male health problems remains.
Cutting prostate cancer risk should be one of universal male goals. All men should start doing this as early as possible.
This can be done either by taking synthetic supplements or by taking so called “prostate herbs”. List of herbs for prostate health is a long one but before we get to the herbs themselves we should explain the nature and function of the human prostate.
The prostate is a small gland located near the bladder. It is made up of thousands of tiny fluid-producing glands that create fluid which forms a part of semen. Another function is to control the flow of urine. Interruption of this function is often seen as a symptom of prostate problems.
But what about herbs for the prostate?
There are more then a few herbs that can very efficiently prevent a number of prostate conditions but two herbs are exceptional when it comes to treating prostate related problems.
First one is Saw palmetto.
Saw palmetto the ultimate prostate herb

Saw palmetto has been used in Europe for treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) for a long time with a lot of success. However US physicians still don’t prescribe it often even though
Saw palmetto shows symptom relief in as little as 30 days which can not be said about usually prescribed prostate medications in the United States.
Red Clover
Trifolium pratense or Red clover is a type of clover native to Europe (national flower of Denmark) and Western Asia. Besides being used to treat symptoms of menopause, red clover is one of the prostate herbs.
