Fathers, Are You Wondering How To Connect With Your Babies?
By admin | January 27, 2008
For mothers, especially if they’re breastfeeding, everyday bonding is a normal part of their routine. During breastfeeding, mothers and their babies experience deep physical and emotional bond. But, the question is – what about fathers? How do they bond with their newborn babies and what are the best way to do that?
For few first months, newborn babies are completely dependent on mothers. More and more fathers actually feel like they don’t belong or do anything in those first few, but very important months in their babies’ lives.
As we all know, for baby’s mental and physical health, it is very important to have both parents having active role in their life.
What’s the best way for fathers and babies to bond?
1. Changing diapers, feeding with bottles and playing
Because most mothers breastfeed their babies and give them most meals, it’s very good for dads to take other roles, like changing diapers and playing with them. Having their fathers as their playmates, babies soon start to develop very special bond with dads. Playing together can be both fun and educational, so fathers can feel very important. They can actually feel like the part of their babies’ lives, not just the ones who provide them financial goods.
2. When your wife’s tired, take care of your little one
Another great way to bond with your baby is to take care of it when your spouse is not feeling very well. You can feed and comfort your child. You can talk and sing to your little one. You can play with it more often and put it to bed.
This is a great way for your baby to understand that you’re there for it, and always will be. Soon, you won’t feel like you don’t belong in your newborn baby’s life.
