My baby hates clothes!
By admin | November 21, 2007
You may be surprised or maybe even shocked when you find out that your 14 month old baby hates clothes and doesn’t want to wear anything.
This is rather common and you shouldn’t be concerned or worried.
Don’t get to excited and insist that your baby has to wear clothes all the time. However, you should be clear to set the boundaries and stay firm on that.
Your baby may hate clothes but its very important that he/she learns social norms.
You shouldn’t rush, have patience, don’t yell at your baby, just dress her/him when they decide to undress.
In a few weeks time your baby will be comfortable in its clothes again. If it takes more time just remember that babies are excellent manipulators.
You should carefully think about when will you allow you baby to take its clothes off and roam free around the house. Babies don’t feel shame when naked, but your guests might be.
When you feel your baby was naked for enough time get her/him to put their clothes by letting them choose what clothes to wear. This might be presented as a game, and an interesting one.
It’s very important to go through this period the right way because your child will a lot about the attitude towards its own body emulating you.
Luckily, when this period is over your baby will be focused on exploring the world.
