Battling hypertension

Hypertension simply means high pressure in your arteries, and it’s one of the major risk factors. Having high pressure can increase risk of heart disease, and stroke.The higher the pressure the higher the risk. But we are not doomed if our blood pressure is high. Battling hypertension is all about the change of your attitude towards life and the change of lifestyle.
If you have hypertension ( high blood pressure) you should lose some old, bad habits, and develop new, healthy ones. You should remember that physical activity is healthy, that it’s good for your heart and for your blood pressure. Being overweight can also lead to high blood pressure, drinking alcohol, and especially smoking can be cause of your hypertension. Medications can also get high pressure under control.
If you have hypertension follow these simple tips:
1.Maintain a healthy weight.
Being overweight creates extra demand of blood, because of excess tissue.You heart gets in trouble. Watch your BMI, and exercise.
2. Exercise regularly
Daily exercise can significantly lower your blood pressure. Just 30 minutes of jogging each day can save your life.
3.Healthy diet is a must
Avoid eating fatty and salty foods, as they are a clear cause of hypertension.
4.Avoid caffeine and alcohol
This does not mean you have to stop drinking coffee in the morning,and completely forget about beer. Just keep it down.
5.Quit smoking
High blood pressure is just one of the reasons why you should quit smoking.
6. Avoid stress
Exercise, meditate, enjoy the nature. Don’t beat yourself up with problems – find a way to relax and try to avoid stress because it has a great impact on your heart and arteries.
Taking care of your body and mind helps you lower your high blood pressure. Thinking positive, enjoying life and simple things and not worrying too much will make you feel better and almost like new. Little things can help you find happier and healthier way of living. You just need do listen to your mind and body.
