Apple’s a way to go
By admin | August 28, 2007
We all heard that old saying “an apple a day will keep the doctor away”. Modern medical research confirms this.
Eating apples will keep heart diseases away as it contains no fat, and is rich in of fibers – both soluble and insoluble. Soluble fiber helps to prevent cholesterol buildup in the lining of blood vessel walls, reducing the risk of atherosclerosis and heart disease.
And prevention of heart diseases is just a small portion of benefits that daily consumption of apples will bring. Studies showed that apple consumption reduces the risk of prostate cancer and lung cancer. Apples help you control your blood sugar levels. In addition apple juice was one of the earliest prescribed antidepressants.
Apples are an excellent source of Vitamin C, but remember to eat the skin too, because it contains much of the vitamin C.

Have an apple.
